I have a 1980 TR8 for sale that I imported from South Africa,
I believe car was originally built in UK as a TR7 in Kit form and sent to South Africa where it was assembled at the British Leyland Blackheath factory in Cape Town . In 2000 the car was converted to a TR8 by the brother of the Chairman of the Triumph Car Club in Cape Town.
There were two conversions - Adding the engine , supports and upgraded the brakes . The Rover V8 engine came from a donor car ( the engine is older than the car )
In 2007 the owner at the time carried out a complete strip down , respray and re upholstered.
In 2012 The last but one owner put in new shocks , and springs, replaced the distributor with a genuine Lucas one and a new water pump .
It was originally silver blue , but I believe the red respray looks better.
Interior is excellent and has a good condition Webasto Sunroof which gives you that open air feeling .
The 3.5L Rover engine is delightful with a lovely K and N air filter.
Car comes with new 1 yr MOT and DVLA registered so ready to go .
This is a really nice example of a TR8 RHD very rare and in good condition with low mileage ( although you will have to convert speedo to mph )
- 10 500 pounds - The vehicle is based in Bordon - Hampshire.
Please enquire for further details.
