This VW camper van is a 1972 Westfalia with a 2.0L engine from a donor 1972 Westfalia. She underwent a partial restoration during 2019 which included a full respray, the installation of a replacement engine, new interior units, the fitting of an electronic ignition system, new brakes and brake cylinders and new shock absorbers.
We purchased the van towards the end of 2020 and decided to complete a more extensive restoration.
Beetlelink of Farnham completed this latest phase of the restoration - see below for details of work carried out:
- New wiring loom supplied by VWLOOMS.com
- New ignition switch
- New tail lights fitted
- Fuel tank pipework replaced
- New distributor and coil fitted
- New indicator stalk
- Brake system overhauled
- Engine compression test completed – results were good; Cyl1 120 psi, Cyl2 130 psi, Cyl3 125 psi, Cyl4 120 psi
- Fuel pump overhauled
As you can see from the pictures she has been fitted out to a good standard, the pop top is in excellent condition and works a dream. This van is perfect and ready for you to start your staycation road trip.
